Ben Affleck is not kicking any romance into high gear.
Indeed, amid rumors that the Good Will Hunting star has rebounded with heiress Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy after Jennifer Lopez officially filed for divorce Aug. 20, his rep shut down the claims.
“Everything about him and Kick,” the 52-year-old’s rep told E! News in a statement Aug. 27, “is untrue.”
The statement comes after multiple outlets reported that the eldest daughter of Robert F. Kennedy and Emily Black was spending time with the Air director, but a source close to the situation later told E! News that the pair are “not romantically involved.”
Of course, Ben—who shares kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12 with ex Jennifer Garner—has been spending time with loved ones amid his separation from the “On the Floor” singer.
In addition to moving his daughter into college on the day J.Lo filed for divorce, he was also spotted spending time with BFF Matt Damon and his family, including his wife Luciana, Aug. 25.
For her part, J.Lo—who shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex Marc Anthony—has kept a low-key profile, only reposting a throwback glam shot on social media since filing last week.
The former couple’s divorce proceedings—which cite their separation date as April 26—follow months of speculation that their marriage was on the rocks, beginning after J.Lo attended the 2024 Met Gala, at which she was a cochair, without Ben.
In the months following, Ben and J.Lo continued to wear their wedding rings and make public appearances together, but were also rumored to be living separately.
Then, in June, breakup speculation only grew when the couple quietly listed their $60.8 million Beverly Hills home for sale.
And although the couple exhibited their strong bond in J.Lo’s The Greatest Love Story Never Told, released in February, Ben had also alluded to brewing issues in their relationship during the documentary.
“Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don't want is a relationship on social media,’” he shared in the film. “And then I sort of realized it's not a fair thing to ask. It's sort of like you're gonna marry a boat captain and you go, ‘Well, I don't like the water.’ We're just two people with kind of different approaches trying to learn to compromise.”
